5 Virus Fighting Aids

So over Christmas we got the crazy mutated bug/virus and it hit hard. I wanted to share the top 5 things that made a difference for my family.

  • (1) Foot Zoning or Acupressure

Almost 10 years ago I wanted a tool as a mother that would assist my kids when they were sick. I’m not one to run to the doctor unless it’s an absolute emergency.

I am now double certified practitioner and I tell you what…I zoned my kids and hubby enough during Christmas break to last the whole year. Lol.

Simple science behind it is all of your nerve endings for the entire body are in the feet and hands. When moving those nerves in specific pattern, you signal to the brain to ‘reset’ or ‘reboot’.

It has been my greatest aid through any ailment. I love that my kids kept coming to me to ask me to zone their feet. Even though I myself was exhausted, it brought me joy as a mom to relieve some discomfort for them.

  • (2) Epsom Salt Baths

This one helped with the mucus that was stuck in the lungs. I had anyone who was dry coughing get in the tub, probably 3-4 times a day depending on the severity.

  • (3) Oils

I interchanged or rotated between Eucalyptus, Breezy and Aspire. Diluted with coconut oil and rubbed on the chest and bottom of the feet. Especially before bed when I noticed the coughing was worse.

  • (4) Hydrate

Simple enough, but very effective. I would add honey and lemon to help the sore throat. But mostly I kept everyone pounding water. It really made a difference with dislodging the cough. It helped move mucus out.

  • (5) Medical Grade Light Therapy

Again many years ago I wanted my own little hospital at home when needed. I invested in LumiCeuticals (link here) and I haven’t had any regrets.

This specific virus was attacking respiratory system, the esophagus (throat and tonsils) and the digestive system (pukes). As soon as I applied lights over the lungs, the coughing attacks calmed down.

Giving the kids a break from the coughing was so important.

And when I did the lights over my neck, I had or horrid sore throat, I noticed it calming down right away.

I have never been so grateful for my light system…well except for the time I got a concussion snowboarding. But that’s a different story for another day!! haha!

    Other helps:

  • Sleep. Plenty of it. I made sure the kids we getting rest away from screens. It was more rejuvenating for their little bodies.

  • Herbal teas.

  • Garlic and honey.

  • Oh! Gargling salt water!! That one was a big help for the sore throat.

It was fascinating to me because I usually can knock a sore throat out with OnGuard straight in the mouth…it didn’t do nothin. But salt water (I used Himalayan salt) actually brought relief and felt it healed my throat.

It’s always good to prepare the home prior. Stock up on your ‘medicine’ cabinet. I saw how much I was lacking, and I’ll do better next time.
