Dumping Liquid Gold
Alma had milked this mamma the day before our “incident” and the milk was great. The following day as he pulled out the filter there was little flakes of blood.
“It could be something as simple as the calf got aggressive nursing and bruised her teat.”
-Farmer Alma (he hates when I call him that hehehe)
So we looked at each other and Alma unplugged the tank.
I’ll be honest. It’s not a great feeling knowing your earnings are going down the drain.
But then we think of all our customers.
We know your names, and we care about your families.
Having sanitation practices in place (filters, clean facilities, extra cleanings of the cows, scraping pens, etc.) allows us to be certain we’re doing what we can to provide the best product.
Life happens and it’s okay. Alma and I have seen time and time again; When we stick with our values we see blessings come back ten fold.
You are all blessings in our lives. I say that with a full heart!
Being your farmers is such a rewarding thing…and it buoys us up when stuff like spilled milk (haha) happens.
