Freedom To Say No

I could go through the list and tell you the science.

The reasons to prove that Raw Milk benefits trumps the other chalk colored stuff would be obvious.

As I person who is borderline diabetic and autoimmune I want to share some insight into my life.

Speaking about the “why’s” rather than the science just is who I am.

If you need to research about it more, there are hundreds of reliable sources. Dr. Josh Axe is a great start!

To give you a good understanding I will give you a glimpse of myself “back in the day”

(haha I love saying that to the youngsters)

In 2013 I had just had my second son.

My body was swollen and full of inflammation.

I’ll share a picture just to give you an idea of how much my poor body was going through.

I figured it was just normal.

When you have a baby you retain water like crazy…rrrriiiiiiiight. Normal.

Well I final got fed up of having zero energy.

Not being able to get out of bed.

Depression was unbearable.

Suicide crossed my mind often, but I certainly didn’t talk about it….cuz that wasn’t normal either.

(I hope your seeing that there is nothing healthy about society’s normal)

Life felt out of my control. Especially health.

I remember distinctly being so DONE.

When I get my mind set on something I jump all in…and that’s exactly what I did.

I cut out all processed foods.

Focused on wholefoods.

I did still buy pasteurized vitamin d milk to make my kefir.

During that time we were up in Idaho and I had little education about raw milk.

While make drastic shifts, I saw my inflammation melt away.

After a year of lifestyle changes I gained such an understanding of whole foods that I never wanted to go back.

It’s been a beautiful evolution.

Just because I gained an understanding doesn’t mean it was overnight change.

Real food is real. It doesn’t have the addictive properties that keep us comin back for more.

Unlike it’s counterparts that have all the chemicals that put your taste-buds and neurons through a crazed extasy.

Raw milk is just a piece of the puzzle!

When I give my kids raw milk it’s to go on their whole grain homemade oats.

I don’t pour it over their sugar cinnamon toast crunch…I make the choice to leave that at the store.

I say no to those foods being apart of our daily rituals.

Why? Because I want agency.

Processed foods robbed my of my ability to say no.

I physically couldn’t pass a plate of cookies, or a box of sugar cereal without my body stopping to eat.

It was a combination of addictive properties and learned coping reactions.

Neither healthy.

After 10 years I am gaining my that ability to choose.

I do eat processed food now, but it is by choice.

Why would I even do that you might wonder?

Because I’m human. lol

And there are just some moments that I know I get to be human and digress.

This pattern has gave me a better relationship with myself and food.

I do say no. And I say yes.

Because as much as I’d love to move to the mountains like many influencers have us seeing…I’m here.

In the world but striving to rise above lower quality options.

Eating real foods is so powerful.

It’s the most underated wellness tip.

“EAT REAL FOOD.”

That’s all I want to share with people all the time!

And when I say it, it logically makes sense to everyone but then when it comes to going through the pantry then the emotions come out.

I get it.

Of anyone, I get how much of an emotional connection food has.

That doesn’t mean it’s what your higher self truly needs and wants.

By beginning the process of changing you will encounter your demons.

Either dive in or take it one food at a time.

Raw milk or sourdough is a great and easy place to start.

Once you invest your time and money into these foods it will motivate you to see other foods you want in or out of your life.

Think about it…do you really want your kid pouring a second bowl of sugar pops with the raw milk you just invested in??

Nope.

Be careful not to say fine…you have your milk, I’ll have mine.

We grow as a family.

And you want your kids to learn this while they are moldable.

It takes courage to make changes and you have what it takes to reshape your future.

You are capable of healing your body and your life, just like I was.

It takes time and that’s totally cool.

Give yourself permission to learn and grow.

And please reach out if you need a little cheerleading.

I’m just an email or text away!

Or stop in the store and chat with one of our therapists (not really therapists) but anyone working the farm store loves to encourage you forward to your best self.

We got you boo!! ;)
