My favorite time of the year to drink milk is Fall and Winter!

Cows naturally produce more cream in their milk in the colder months.

The calves that feed off their mamas need higher volumes of fat (cream) in their diets.

Now before you jump on me about stealing from the babies…

ALL of our babies are raised by their mammas. They get the nutrition they need and have constant access to drinking milk whenever they want.

Stop out at the farm and watch them!

It’s adorable to see them and their milk frothed mustaches. haha!

So because they are producing higher cream content in the milk, we also get that benefit in the cold months.

Many get hung up on the “fat” in cream.

—-> I personally have found truth about the war on fat…

Healthy fat is not the enemy.

There are innumerable benefits from having nature-derived fats in your diet.

I know each body type is different, so the amount of Fats/Carbs/Protein consumed is personal.

I’ve learned for me, my body needs a LOT of healthy fats.

Plant based and animal based.

So when I bust open a thing of milk, I don’t even bother shaking the cream back in…sorry Alma & Kids! :) lol

In my childhood, I was that kid that took bites of the butter. #NoRegrets

Its so great having thicker cream line for my homemade yogurt, ice cream and whipped cream.

And making butter is awesome in the Fall/Winter!

Children and adults…especially those that are exposed to the cold weather need the animal based fats!

When I make soup, I keep the fat drippings in it.

I also began to add bones (kinda like making bone broth but simpler) to my soups.

This will allow them to add minerals and fats (if there is cartilage) in for the whole family.

If you think back to the days of our great-great grandparents, they knew nutrients were crucial to survival.

We might not be in “survival” mode exactly.

But what if we are?

I believe majority of the sick are void of key nutrients derived from whole foods.

Fats are one of those whole foods that have been lost to the public knowledge.

Big Food corporation - need I say names - have villainized natures products.

Why?

Because if they can brain wash the public to think they are incapable of living without Crisco…They. Make. Money.

It take courage to go against the trends.

Also going against what was done in the previous generation isn’t easy.

Telling grandma your going to prepare the family dish a different way - oooo buddy. Just don’t tell her. haha

When I tell people I drink cream, put chicken feet in my bone broth, fast for days…they give me a look and I know they believe I need to be in a loony-bin.

Naw. I’m way to crazy for those places.

Fun fact.

I sleep at night.

I have daily bowel movements.

Headaches? Notta. Maybe on a random day in July when I don’t drink enough.

No caffeine needed to keep me going.

No mid-day nap either.

I’ve healed my degenerative disc disease. (which according to the chiro when I was 18 wasn’t possible)

All of these wins for me came over time, with lifestyle change and food changes.

Guys I’m passionate about this because I’m living it.

It is what helps me thrive daily.

And I’ve still got more to do! That’s okay, I’m cool with the journey.

When you drink raw milk and incorporate these real foods into you daily diet, you will see how your body gets what it needs in each Season.
